The Strjatford Hospital Hoard this morning accepted with regret the resignation of,-Nurse Myers, from the position of ciiarge nurse at the Hospital. It was'decided to place on the Board's books a motion eugolising the work of Nurse Myers. .
A departmental order with respect to the Eleventh Regiment Taranaki Rifles, intimates that Major Felix Templeinan Bellrhiger has been promoted to Lieut.-Colonel and to command a regiment, vice Lieut.-Colonel Malone, killed in action.
Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P. for Eltham, was quietly married yesterday to Miss Mabel Duncan at the house of Mr H. Moyes, Eltham. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr Lowery, and the couple left immedi-e ately by motor car to spend their honevmoon.
Among the passengers who returned last night to Wellington by the Moeraki from Sydney \w,as Miss H. McLean!, .who left New Zealand in April last, in (charge of the first, party of nurses sent to Egypt. Three members of the Maori Contingent also returned for special duty. These were Captain Roger Dansey (Dunedin), and Lietenants Hiroti Te Urn (Wanganui) and Thomas Hetch (T e Kuiti).
, During the supper adjournment of Parliament on Friday evening, several members made a fc presentation to Lieutenant. ; George Mfesey (son of the Prime Minister). a nd Mr W. E. Anderson (son of Mr G, J .Anderson, M.P., f(j« Ma'taura)," both., of whom were recently married. Lieutenant Massey js shortly, proceeding to the front.
