DEALING WITH GERMAN SUBMARINES.
STORY Or A COOD CATCH. A letter from a military cadet in England written to his father, who happened to receive the letter in Bellingen, contains the following interesting items, says the Belligen "Courier" : "Father learns from one of his brothers the other day that during the past three months or so the British have captured lB German submarines, all of the big modern type. - • The periscope of the enemy submarines are rendered useless, and they have to come to the surface to see where they are. British torpedo boats in awaiting deal with them. It will interest yon, perhaps, to learn where these German submarines have been getting their supplies of petrol and other necessaries. About a month ago seven fishermen were shot at Kinsalo for supplying German submarines with petrol and oil. Many more have been dealt with on the east coast of England for doing the same sort of thing. In,particular was Captain .He had been supplying petrol and oil to German submarines for a long time, but his mechanic liecame suspicious of him, anu reported his suspicions to the war authorities. One day he made the mistake of .signalling to a British submarine. He was shot at Dorer. There is reason to suppose he had something to do with the blowing up of the British warships and i s sure about the .supplying of oil and petrol, but not about the blowing up of the ships."
