WAR PENSIONS.
A PROGRESS REPORT. The Minister of Defence has furnished a progress report of the work done to date by the War Pensions Board. This report showed that applications had been dealt with as follows:

The amount of all the payments authorised is £137(5 to 26 people, an average of £52 per annum; The report of the working of the Australian pensions scheme up till September 23., which report was published in the newspapers a few days- ago, shotted that 9"55 pensions bad l>een granted, and tha ; t, the total amount granted wa s £30,000. an average of. ahout £3l P»' pension. , ■ ■' •
