Bishop Geary was a passenger iron Sydney by the Makura, states, ai Auckland wire. The subsequent treat ment were successful, and he stood the voyage well. It is regarded as only :■ matter of time to ensure complete recovery. At the Auckland Police Court, Dr. Albert Harding Porter, who was arrested at Wellington, was charged with having attempted to leave Now Zealand without making adequate provision for the maintenance of Ids wiie. Counsel for complainant stated that defendant had made an explanation to his wife as to tne circumstances, and as to a sum for maintenance, which she had accepted, and she did not desire to proceed with the case.
