OVER 50 SUBMARINES LOST. United Press Association. Copenhagen, October 1. The German Admiralty has not received news of forty-s-. ven .submarines, and it is supposed these have been lost. The real number is believed to be fifty-four. SUBMARINES IN THE BALTIC. London, October 1. In answer to a request for details of submarines/ in the Baltic torpedoing a German cruiser during the latter week of August. Air Balfour stated in the House that he was unable to give any information except that contained in Russian reports to the effect that British submarines had clone good work in the Baltic, not as independent forces, hut acting under the Russian Admiralty,
