PERSONAL.
Miss Ella Mercer, of Stratford, has commenced her training in the Christchurch Hospital. Bishop Cleary and Father Keogh are passengers by the Malhira from Sydney, states a cable to-day. Mr H. G. Reeves, Union Bank, has been appointed secretary pro tern of the Stratford Amateur Operatic Society. Private C. S. Kelly, of the Otago Battalion, has been leported wounded. Private Kelly was a member of the literary staff of the "Post" when he enlisted. He departed with the 3rd Reinforcements, leaving Stratford in December last. The following men have been passed medically lit for the Reinforcements: Messrs Chas. Joyce (Taumaramii) infantry; Arthur Bottornly (Whangamomona) tunneller; F. B. Woison (Purangi) Army Service Corps; W. T. Seamark (Midhirst) infantry; 1). Thompson (Stratford) infantry.
Private W. M. Cuff, of the mounted section of the 7th Reinforcements, who has been spending a short holiday with his brother, Mr A. F. Cuff, left for Trentham by the mail train this morning. Private Cuff was tendered a farewell social at his brother's residence last evening.
