Sorgean Davis intends leaving ' Stratford oi Monday, 27th inst. The death occurred to-day at the age of 60, of John Baker, a respected settler on the Bird Road. Some year* age he' left the district and took up farming at Waipuku, but later returned to the Bird Road. Mrs Baker and relatives will have the sympathy of many friends. The funeral, takes place on Monday.
