THE CAMEROONS CAMPAIGN. United Press Association. London. September I. The Governor of Nigeria reports the capture of the town of G.ascbaka, in the Caineroons, fifty miles from the Nigerian border. The enemy’s position was surprised on July 29, and ho was forced to retire.

A communique states The French Columns in the South-east Cameroon*!, while advancing; towards Yanide, which is-the capital, occupied the station of Dume, after two engagements. Our unexpected attack completely surprised the (Hermans, who abandoned an important position at Xdjassi, and strongly fortified posts between Hondidune and Ngilibolclune. They threw their transport into the river, and wo seized Mbonymbong, the enemy retiring northward with a view to organising resistance in the vicinitv, of Joko.
