10,000 MEN ON STRIKE. THE TROUBLE SPREADING. United Press Association. (Received 8.55 a.m.) London, August 27. The miners of South Wales are angry because the Government did not receive the deputation. Nearly ten thousand struck to-day and it is feared the trouble will spread. INTERPRETATION OF AWARD.

Askwith, when invited to interpret his bonus percentage, taking Northumberland district as a test case, decided that it cannot he extended beyond the/maximum of a sixty-five percentage on the standard rates, which was embodied in the agreements prior to the present abnormal conditions. As the above maximum had not been reached, the men were not entitled to their demand for an additional eleven per cent.
