All announcement regarding the Hospital Ship Fund, was made tonight by his 1 Excellency the Governor, who stated that since his last intimation on the subject, and in accordance with the views expressed at the meeting held at Government House. Wellington, oil July 2$ he had disbursed the following amounts :

Amounts for comforts for the sick mid wounded in Egypt £IOOO.

To the High Commissioner for New Zealand, to be devoted to the ~S\t. Felix Hospital for New ZeaTanders at Walton-on-Thames, in response to an appeal for £IO,OOO made by the High Commissioner and Lord Plunket. on behalf of the New Zealand Association in Great Britain (it is .proposed to send the remaining £SOOO shortly) £SOOO.

To the High Commissioner and Lord Plunket, for tobacco and newspapers for;the sick and wounded at Malta and the Dardanelles £l5O.

For comforts for the sick'and wounded at Trentbam £615 10s (3d , For No. 1 Base Hospital, Egypt;

£SOO. ! .!-. ~; This leaves a balance to credit of £•27.040 9,s (id, or £22,640 ; 9s (id. alter tile second £SOOO has been sent to the High Commissioner, t The, total ex,penitnre up to date, including the equipment of the hospital ship, has heel) £21,005 10s (id. and in accordance with the advice tendered to him at the above-mentioned meeting his Excellency proposes to keep in hand a sum of not less than £IO,OOO for reconditioning the Maheno.
