AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. A programme which is said to equal anything previously shown in Stratford is promised for to-night, in an entire change, headed by 7 a picturisation of Hugh Conway’s famous work, “Called Back.” The film is 3500 feet in length, and is produced on a scale of magnificent completeness, and embodies aH the thrilling and sensational scenes which hag been the means of Hugh Conway’s book “Called Back,” having a place in every library and home. The supporting programme includes an exceptionally good industrial him entitled “Mushroom Growing,” also the “Heart of Sonny Jim” (Yitagraph), “Superstituous Baby” (comedy), “The Trossacks and Lake Katrine” (scenic), and the popular War Gazette series, including German .prisoners doing useful work in Brittany, Singalese in the trench, and many others.

“A SCRAPE O’ THE PEN.”

A good house greeted Mr and Mrs i Moffat at the Town Hall last evening. “A Scrape o’ the Pen” is centred around Scottish characters, and as a character play, nothing so good as a whole has been seen in Stratford. Mr Moffat, in the role of Mattha, was as convincing in the amusing parts as in the affecting phases. Mrs Moffat ably seconded her husband, taking the part of Lee/.ie. Miss Mattie Muclellan, as Jean Lowther, acted splendidly. and her singing of the lullaby was well received. The scenery was very realistic, and one could have imagined that the play was being produced in the Highlands themselves. If Mr and Mi's Moffat return to Stratford, they may rest assured that big houses will greet them.
