(Received 8.40 a.m.) London. August 2. A submarine sank the London steamer Kuljens. The crew of twentyfour safely landed.

(Received 8.50 a.m.) Copenhagen, August 2. The Norwegian steamer Trondjems Fjord was submarined and sank. The crew of thirty-nine landed,

The British steamer Benboirlieh was sunk. The chief officer and sixteen of the crew landed. The captain and the remainder of the crew left the ship in another boat.
LOSS OF THE LINER CLINTONIA.
(Received 1.35 p.m.) London, August 2
The liner Clintonia with a crow \va s sunk. Fifty-four were rescued and eleven perished.
GERMAN DESTROYER SUNK.
WORK OF BRITISH SUBMARINES (Received 1.40 p.m.) London, August 2. The Admiralty announce that British submarines sunk a German destroyer off the German coast on. July 26. LAUNCH OF A CERMAN CRUISER (Received 1.35 p.m.) Amsterdam. August 2. A large German cruiser was launched at Wilhelmshaven. The Kaiser ordered it to be named Hindenburg.
