VERY SATISFACTORY REPORT.

General Cadorna reports that the Austrian attacks in the Carnonica Valley, Carnia, wore repulsed by Italian infantryv A bold offensive in the Palpicolo zone resulted in the capture of a strong line of Austrian trenches. The Austrians were reinforced in tlie evening and counter-attacked, but were driven back with grave losses. The operations on the Isonzo for flu* extension of the Blava bridgehead have been successfully developed. Alter destroying an extensive entanglement we re-enlarged the country in our occupation south-east along the slopes of Mount Kuk and in the neighbourhood of Zagors. Our troops at Carso, advancing to the second Austrian line, made appreciable progress in the centre, where they captured entrenchments and made prisoners of 334.
