SCOTTISH SOCIETY.
Owing to the severe storm yesterday, the function to be held by the Scottish Society in aid of the sick and wounded fund had to be postponed. At a special meeting of the committee last evening, it was decided to hold.the function on Tuesday evening, July 27th, when it is hoped "Friend Bates" will be more kind. The canvassing committee reported that owing to the very bad weather and the roads being Mocked, a number of the gift stock, could not be brought in. . but that (hose offered bad brought reco-d prices, a total of over £2OO having been obtained. It was decided to sell the balance of the stock next Tuesday at the yards; that all raffles, including the section, be drawn on Tuesday evening next, and that those wishing | to purchase tickets for the raffle can still obtain same from any member*of | the committee. The Mock Court will be held in front of the Post Office-on Saturday afternoon, weather permit ting. The committee wish to notify those who kindly donated articles to'be sold at the bazaar (and were not called for yesterday) that they would be called for on Tuesday morning next. It was decided to have a further meeting of all committees in Mr McAllister's Studio on Friday evening, at .7.30.
