STRATFORD'S ELECTRICAL SUPPLY.

SUFFERS BY BAD WEATHER.

The extraordinarily had speli of weather, with the copious and continuous downpour of rain, lias found out tho weal; places everywhere in residences or other structural work. At the Stratford Klectrical Supply Company's Diesel engine and generating house, it \va« thought that the fullest precautions had been taken to prevent, any possiility of trouble through the invasion of water, but even a solid concrete wall a foot thick with special coating of pitch and tar on the inside, has been uuahale to withstand the constant soakage we,have experienced, and to-day it was found that a certain amount of water had reached the electrical generators. As the merest tyro in these matters is probably aware, everything in this connection must he bone-dry to enable the current to he generated, and in consequence, through no possible fault of the Company's or its staff, the Diesel plant is temporarily thrown out of action and reliancf has to be placed on the h.v iro-plant. This will, haning some unexpected mishap, enable all consumers to haro reasonable access to the current, hilt it is especially desired not to overload the machines now working, and consumers are, in their own interests, asked to be as economical in*their use. of the current, especially for power and heating purposes, a.s they possibly can. to prevent any possibility of a blow-out and ! the town being plungpt! into darkness. As soon as the difficulty at the Diesel power house is overcome the public will be duly notified.
