TO-MORROWS FUNCTION

To-morrow "ill Ito a red-letter day in the history of the Scottish Society. At 2.80 p.m. the .Mock Court will ho opened. The stern Judge, with Ids flowing robes, and the Crown Prosecutor. with aspect dark and vision grim, will he on the Bench to mole cult punishment to all and sundry who may have broken the fifteen-mile an hour limit, or any other limit. Tim fun will he fast and furious. Twelve sturdy policemen have been enrolled to do special,duty. Farmers will leave their farms and will flock lo Stratford to see and join in the fun. Townspeople will all he there, and what a day it will he, and the result will he a large sum should he collected lor the Sick and Wounded Return Troopers’ Fund. At ‘2.80 p.m. the Town Hall will' he opened by his Worship the Mayor for the grand bazaar. Stalls ol beautiful articles of all descriptions have been donated; there will bargains for everyone, and art unions galore. The afternoon tea is sure to he lovely, and only saxpence! Admission to the Hall is free.

At 8 o’clock the Grand Concert will take place, the very best talent procurable having been obtained. There will he Highland songs, dances, and upisic. After the concert there will he the huge gift auction salo, tlm sale of the Belgium Flag, and the art unions will he drawn, to conclude with a dance at which there is sure Lo ho a large attendance. .. The whole of the proceeds are in aid of the Sick and "Wounded Soldiers’ Fund. This is the first organised function that has boon held in Strafford for this Fund. The first lot of wounded has arrived in New Zealand. Luckily.i this district his no one in tins hatch to claim our help, hut who knows whom the next ship that returns may bring belonging to our district, ami requiring our help and sympathy. The public will have a chance of helping this cause at to-morrow’s function.! Every shilling given will help to relieve the suffer ng of some poor comrade. Attend to-morrowms function and show practical sympathy in this worthy object.
