SOLDIERS' MESSAGES.

i The Postanaster-Genenil announces that he has just made arrangements with the cable companies with regard to soldiers' messages as follow: (1) Persons in New Zealand may send, at the rates for such messages, "Soldiers' Week-end" (EFM) cable messages to soldiers in Egypt and the United Kingdom, with instructions to reply at the cost of the New Zealand senders. Such instructions must appear as the last text word, thus "Heply RTP." "RTP" means "The New Zealand receiver to pay," and twelve is the greatest number of words that will be accepted in reply. (2) The replies from the United Kingdom will not be accepted at telegraph offices in the United Kingdom, but only at the office of the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London. They must contain the last word "RTP," must be countersigned by the military authority under whose control the soldier is, and must be addressed by post at United Kingdom inland rates to the High Commissioner for New Zealand. (4) Members of the New Zealand ex--1 peditionnry force in the United Kingj dom, but not in Egypt, may also send "EFM" messages to New Zealand without the receipt of any preliminary message from New Zealand. They must be countersigned as prescribed in section 2 hereof. They will be accepted at the same rates, hut must not contain more than 12 words. They must contain the last word "RTP" and be sent to the High Commissioner by post at the same United Kingdom inland rates as prescribed in section 2 hereof. The soldier despatching such a message will not be required to pay for it. but the receiver in New Zealand will. No "RTP" telegram received from the United Kingdom or from Egypt will be handed to the addressee in New Zealand until the charges on it have been paid. (5) The rates for EFM soldier messages are as- follows: Kgypt, IHd per word; United Kingdom. 8d per word; no minimum charge.
