The Borough Council unanimously resolved that, in view of the worldwide system, of espionage instigated by our enemies ,and the terrible losses our soldiers and sailors have suffered thereby, the Council requests the Prime Minister to immediately dispense with thy services of all nnnatnralised Germans in the Government employ, or receiving Government monies. AN ELECTRICAL SCHEME. Pahiatua. July 13. Acting on the advice of the Wellington consulting engineer, the Borough Council* resolved to defer the municipal electric light and power scheme for twelve months, owing to the scarcity and high price of electrical materials. A loan of £10,0(10 was raised a few mouths ago for the scheme. Two electrical experts’ reports were also obtained.
