BUTCHERS IN CONFERENCE

A DOMINION FEDERATION.

Per Press Associat-on-Palmerston, North, ’July 8

A conference of the'Mastei- Butchers of the Dominion was held here yesterday. There was a large attelullince; and Mr W. C. Hampton (Wellington) presided. It was decided that a Federation of Master Butchers be formed. The Government is to be asked to increase tlxe amount of compensation on condemned ’ stick' to 75 per cent, and that the vendor be compelled to pay a share of the loss on condemned stock. The Government is to be asked to make an appeal to farmers’ to husband thenbreeding stock with a view to increasing the Dominion* herds.
