In the year 1914 the trade unionists in New South Wales numbered 210,023, as compared with 230,077 in
the previous year
SUGAR CROP SUFFERS. (Received 10 a.m.) Brisbane. July 5. The Superintendent of the sugar experiment stations states that the drought lias severely affected the sugar in certain districts, where fourfifths of the crop has perished.
BRAN AND POLLARD PRICES. (Received 10 a.m.) Perth, July 5. The Control of Trades Commission has fixed the prices of bran at £lO and pollard at £l2 per,ton.
