A Sydney cablegram states that the total offering at the season's wool sales which closed on Thursday, was 550,621) bates', and the realisations 515,004. The export for the season declined by 133,017 bales.
The Pacific Cable Board is sending .a .steamer*to search for their schoonev, the Strathcona, reports an Auckland P.A'v wire. She was built here to carry officials and stores between Fanning island and Honolulu, She left Auckland on June 4 on her maiden trip, and has not since been heard of. She has a crew of eight men aboard. The searching vessel \vill cruise 20UU miles, visits ing the Keremadecs and other islands.
