It is not many years since Dr. Cook put forward his claim as having discovered the South Pole. The adventurer’s story was discredited, and rightly so. Lawrence, solicitor, advertises money to lend on behalf of clients. ! R. Hannah and Co. advertise their half yearly stock taking and balance and request .settlement of accounts. On page eight of this issue will be found an especially interesting notification to farmers and settlers from Mr G. L. A. Hunt, of Whangarei. Mr T. Lamason notifies that he is now receiving orders for hedge and shelter trees on account of Mr A. S. Hicks, Tikorangi. Particulars of entries for Mr Newton King’s next Saturday’s Haymarket Sale appear in another column. Messrs. R. H.
