THE TAUMARUNI SEAT.
Pbe Press association. Taumarumii, June 11. Sir Joseph Ward addressed a crowded meeting at Taumarumii tonight, many being unable to gain admission. The speaker, during a two hours and a-halt address, criticised on many points the (lovernment’s administration, and defended the policy of the Liberal Party. The victory of Mr Jennings would not, he said, necessarily mean a dissolution of Parliament, as was being given out. He quoted instances of changes of Government elsewhere- during war. A most attentive hearing was given, and at the close a vote of thanks and confidence was carried by acclamation.
THE LIBERAL CAMPAIGN. Feu Frews Association. Tngelwood, June 12. Koon interest in tlie , Taumarunni election was shown at Win"tarn anil other southern portions ot the electorate last night. Clifton Hall. Waitara, was packed to the doors. Mayor lloekhessinger presided, and the speakers were Mr Hornsby, M.F. for Wairarapa, and W. T. Jennings, ex-M.P. for Tauinarunni. A motion of oonndenco in the Liberal Party and Mr Jennings was carried with cheers.
