The Belgian steamer Menapier, bound from Algiers to Middlesex with iron ore, was torpedoed last night, and sank in half a minute off North Foreland. Eight of the crew landed at Margate and one was sent to the hospital. The captain, his wife, and daughter, the first mate, the pilot, and twelve men are reported to be lost. SOUTHERN IRISH COAST. NORWEGIAN BARQUE DESTROYED. (Received 9.20 a.m.) London, June 8. The Norwegian barque Superb, grain laden from Buenos Aires to Queeustovvn, was torpedoed fifty miles west of Fastnet. The crew landed at Labireiveeu.
