ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
A SHOOTING FATALITY. Pek Press Association. Whangarei, June 5. A shooting fatality occurred yesterday, at Mangapai. Thomas Fleming, aged 18, of Whangarei, shot a cat, and then proceeded to pick up the animal, leaving his douhle-harelled gun on a hank of earth. The gun retained one charge. Deceased heat down to pick up the gun, when it discharged and the shot struck hleming in the neck, killing him instantly. It is supposed a twig or other obstruction on the hank caught the hammer or the trigger. His sister witnessed the tragedy. A brother is at the front. FATALITY AT LOWCARTH. A young man named Walter Moore, single, aged 23 years, who resided in a whare on the property of his brother-in-law, Mr. A. F. Burke, .at Upper Hunter Road, Lowgarth, was found face downward in a creek in front of his whare on Friday morning. There was only six inches of water in the creek/ Deceased was subject to fits, and it is surmised that he was in this condition when he fell into the creek.
