MEAT PACKERS' COMPLAIN
POSITION MUST BE ALTERED. fTjN»Tnn PUTM AfIBOOIATTON.I (Received 10.25 a.m.) Sydney, June 2. The Meat Packers complain that the War Office is turning down all the Australian tenders for tinned meats without giving a reason, while placing huge orders in the Argentine and United States. Prices may be higher from the Australian packers than the War Office is willing to accept, but they point out as they are barred from sending outside the British Empire unless the position quickly alters, packers will be compelled to close down.
