AMUSEMENTS.
H.M. THEATRE. "The Vendetta," now showing at the above theatre, is pronounced the best picture story ever screened here. This story by Marie Corelli is full of interest and thrills. The life of Fa bio Romani is toWin a convincing way, showing his happinesse with his wife Nina and their hild Stella. The populace of Naples is stricken with cholera, and Fabio becomes a victim. He is thought to lie dead by the doctors, and is put in a cheap wooden casket, and buried in the family vault. After some hours of apparent death, his body stirs, he breathes, and finally bursts the casket open. The story shows how he escapes and goes to his home, where he sees the false wife and heartless mother Nina in her true self. Believing him dead, there is no limit to her adventures, and a vendetta is sworn by Fabio. Other pictures are •'The War Cassette," Birth of Flowers" and a comedy "Back to the Kitchen.",
