TROTTINC. WAIMATE PLAINS CLTJB. i A meeting of the Waimute Plains Trotting Club was held at Hawera last night. Mr Nalder presided over an attendance of about sixty. The chairman stated that about 200 members had promised to join. The following officers were elected : President, -Mr R. H. Nolan; vicepresident, Mr J. Turton; treasurer, .Mi- W. O'Callaghai) ; committee, Messrs K Morrisey (Hawera), W. J. Bradford, C. Jones, A. T. Johnson (Auroa), F. J. Butler (Stratford), R. Hicks (Hawera), J. S. Grant (flawera), C. Ardon (Stratford), C. Preston (Xormanby) and W. Slattery (Manaia). The folowing were appointed stewards: Messrs R. Morrisey, D. J. Goodwin, R. Hicks, T. R. Mountsey, A. J. ! Davey, M. Jones, W. J. Bradford and I A. T. Johnson. Mr E. A. Nalder was appointed secretary. Mr J. Turton was appointed auditor, and he gave his first year's lee as a donation. Mr W. Shannon was appointed handicapper and Mr A. Morse, starter. rt was decided to divide £450 to £.IOO in stakes amongst seven events. An Auckland telegram states that Appin was scratched for all engagements at the A.R.C. meeting at 9 a.m. i A cablegram from Adelaide states that Nasbery. winner of the Adelaide Cup, was sold to Joseph Tinjms for 3000 guineas.
