The gunners at Dover believe they hit a Zepeplin which headed for the English Channel with her nose canted downwards. Twenty-three incendiary bombs were dropped in a field near St. Margaret’s Bay. The Daily News’ Dunkirk correspondent saysl a French torpedoer fifed several shots at a Zeppelin flying low from the direction of England, and one shot hit the Zeppelin, which crumpled up and dived into the sea near Gravelines. Corpses were afterwards seen floating in the vicinity. Advices from Amsterdam state that it is believed that the Ramsgate raider reached Berchan after driving off a pursuing aeroplane. (Received 9.25 a.m.) Dunkirk, May 18. After attacking Calais two Zeppelins were driven off and flew towards Boulogne. The battery at Gresnez bit one of the raiders, winch turned back. It is reported that a disabled airship fell on the beach two miles from Dunkirk and her crew were taken prisoners.

It is reported that the Zeppelin raider was wrecked by gunfire at Cape Grisnez and fell near Dunkirk. Seven officers and thirty-three men were taken prisoners.
