In the House of Representatives, Mr Jensen announced that in view of Admiral Henderson's report in favor of Port Stephens as a naval base, the Department was proceeding with the works ,which would give employment to many miners who were idled through the war. NEW SOUTH WALES' WHEAT SHORTAGE. (Received 9.50 a.m.) Sydney, May 15. Mr Hall states that New South Wales will require to import one-and-a-half million bushels of wheat ..before next harvest. Already two shipments are on the water.
