MISCELLANEOUS. UNITBD PBEBS ASSOCIATION. London, May 14. A German official report claims that they crossed the San within twentyfive miles of Prjsemysl. Half of Galicia was regained. A correspondent at Warsaw states that the suddenness of the'German attacks in west Galicia enabled them to score initial successes. It was believed these .successes would evaporate when the Russians were able to adjust themselves to the new strain. AH the recent news from Galicia was optimistic. Throughout Russia there is increased confidence in and admiration of Great Britain, which is regarded as-an absolutely dependable quantity.« Though the people are praying for an early offensive in the west, the situations are accepted with trust and without complaint. German officers taken prisoners state the Kaiser visited the Dunajifcz front after a council of war at Cracow with General Hindenberg and the Austrian Archduke. Despite the pressure of the Austrian officers, the Kaiser addressed the German soldiers, declaring the Germans were fighting three powerful enemies practically single-handed. Their allies, Austria and Turkey, had not fulfilled his expectation. Therefore German officers ought to command the remnants of the Austrian Army. Only % doing so could victories be achieved. Official: The intensity of the fighting in Western Galicia is decreasing. On Tuesday and AVednesday our offensive on the right bank of the Dueister was meeting with continued success. .. .
