_ lajflfriwi HIGH COMiVUSSIONER'S REPORT. The Prime Minister has received the following from the High Commissioner, London, .May 6th (6.52 a.m.): On the right bank of the Or/.ec, in North Poland, the Russians repulsed Impetuous German attacks, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. East of Malwa railway, the Russians by a surprise attack captured a farm. and retained it against incessant'coun-ter-attacks, 1000 Germans being killed. Between the Vistula and the Carpathians, the battle was continued with great obstinacy. The enemy's main efforts wave directed towards Jaslo. The Russians were severely tried, owing to the superiority of the enemy's heavy artillery, hut the enemy suffered heavily when attempting to attack. In developing successful positions on .Mount Makurwa the Russians took two thousand prisoners, and the enemy were thrown hack a considerable distance. On the course of the upper Lomnitza, in East Galicia, some Russian successes were gained.
