NEW ZEALAND HOME BUILDERS, Ltd.

ACTIVE OPERATIONS IN STRATFORD. Messrs G. Abbott and H. I. Foster, the former managing director and the latter building superintendent of New Zealand Home Builders, Ltd., are at present in Stratford arranging for the start of operations,in this district. Advantage lias been taken of their visit to glean information respecting the Company, and as an outcome many particulars of general interest were obtained. It was learned that the Company has already made a tremendous success of its business. They have at present over sixty buildings in course of erection in Auckland and surrounding districts, and have many more applications, which are at present being gone into. The Company aims at giving a man a home on the same basis as his rout bill, that is, they build a house to any style or design required and allow the owner to pay for it on the monthly instalment plan over a period of years. To home seekers this is an excellent proposition, for it gives them a chance to get their own place, who, under ordinary circumstances, could not purchase. -Moreover, the Company being in a large way, are able to give a man a better home for less money than they could obtain through the usual retail channels. The directors of the Company look with favor on Stratford, as some of their early capital was obtained from here, many shares in the Company being taken up locally, before it was in really active operation. From an investor's standpoint the Company offers many advantages. Its shares are a safe investment, in that the Company does not do a speculative business, but builds to order only, and the security at the back of its shareholders' money is first mortgages on the homes it huilds. The directors have already declared an interim dividend (the first paid by the Company) at the mte of 8 per cent, per annum. Shares can now be purchased at 245, but on completion of this issue will be further advanced. In operating in a district such as Stratford the Cornpa nv spends all the money possible in the'business locally. Local labour and materials are used whenever available, and as their method is cash right through much good results in any town they go into, for their business runs into large figures, and for this feature alone, the enterprise is worthy of support.
