SUPPLYING INFORMATION AND MESSAGES. The Telegraph Department issued the following information last night: "A large number of requests arc being made by relatives of members of the Expeditionary Fcvce to the Defence Department, and this department for further information regarding the nature of injuries or to convey messages of sympathy to troopers. The Military Records Office at Alexandria is working at high pressure and will no doubt furnish the necessary details at the earliest possible moment. In the circumstances it is regretted that it is impracticable for the Defence authorities to reply to enquiries of any kind except in cases reported of exceptionally serious or dangerously wounded soldiers. Persons presenting telegrams seeking information of cr conveying good wishes, etc., to soldiers reported as wounded or slightly wounded are requested to take advantage of the special low cable rate provided for such telegrams in soldiers' week-end messages." PARTICULARS OF THE CASUALTIES. Tt was reported that Xo. 10-664, Private M. P. Davidson, was among die wounded in the Dardaneles. It ■should read Xo. 10-604, Private W. P. Davidson. He was with the Eighth Xew Zealand Contingent during the Boer war. His next-of-kin is Mrs W. Kellv, of Stratford. Private H. H. Mackrell. of the Wellington Infantry, who was wounded at the Dardanelles, is a grandson of Mr John Heslop, of-Eltham. Private Piper, who has been killed, was born at Weston, near Oamaru, and was about 30 years of age. He was engaged in laboring work in Duuedin before enlisting. He was a single man. Private Catto is a son of Sergt.Major Catto, formerly of the local Defence Office, and now at Trentham. Private Clarkson was born in Greymouth 24 years ago. and went to Dunedin with his parents when four years of age. He was a single man, and was employed in Messrs Sargood, Son. and Ewan's boot factory. Private "Cameron was born in Dunedin and is '2~> years of age. He was single and employed in the Hillside Workshops. He left with the main body.
