Mr Samuel Hordern has been elected president of the Koyal Agricultural Society, succeeding Mr Sutter, states a Sydney cablegram. Mr W. Christian Elard, science master at the Queensland Agricultural College, has beeu appointed instructor in agriculture to the Auckland Education Hoard, at a salary of £.'WO a year. Twenty-four applications for the position were received by the Board. The wow instructor was educated at Sydney University.
