NEWTON KING'S HAYMARKET REPORT. For my Haymarketsale held on Saturday last, I had a full yarding of pigs, chiefly weaners. There was a fair attendance of farmers, the enquiry for all lines was easier all round, weaners being slack of sale. I quote as under:—Slips and weaners from 4s (id to 10s, small stores 12s 6d to 16s (id, medium ditto 19s fid to £1 8s 6d. T. LAMASON'S WEEKLY REPORT.
There was a fairly successful sale at the auction rooms last Saturday. Prices for poultry are still low, but the prices showed an improvement on previous sales. We quote as follows: Hens Is to Is 9d, pullets Is 9d to 2s 3d, ducks Is 6d to 2s, Turkeys 6s to 7s (id, roosters Is to 3s, cauliflowers •is per doz, cabbage 2s, carrots 3s per bag, onions 2s to Gs per bag, potatoes lis to 14s, pollard lis 1001 b bag, 21s 2001 b bag, sucrosine 20s, soap 12s 6d per box Jcwt), pickling onions 2d per 11), apples 2s to 6s 6d, pears 3s to (is, tomatoes Is 9d to 4s, all according to quality and size of case. -
