RIFLE SHOOTING.

NORTH V. SOUTH TARANAKI

| The annual rifle match between teams representing North and South Taranaki was fired on the Eltham rifle range yesterday. The weather was gloriously tine. The clubs represented included New Plymouth, the Territorials, and Inglewood, among the North, and Eltham, Stratford, Patea and Kaponga for the South. The conditions were 22 men aside, 20 to count; seven shots at 300, 400, and 600 yards. The scores were as follow :

The Northern side thus won by SO points. At the conclusion of the shooting a meeting of riflemen was held, when it was decided to «hoot the match at Stratford next year. Mr Brocklebank was appointed secretary.
