WORK FOR THE WINTER.
SATISFACTORY PUBLIC WORKS POLJCY. ti Peb Pbess Association. Dunedin,. May 7. The Bon. Eraser, (Minister of Public Works) informed a, reporter tins morning that public works had been carried on during the financial year very satisfactory, and to a greater extent than it was supposed could have been done within the period of financial strain in consequence of the war. Regarding railway construction, roads v and bridges throughout the Dominion, work was progressing satisfactorily, and every effort would he made during the : coming winter to provide employment for those needing it.
