THE STATUTE OF LIMJTATIONS. Per Press Association. Wellington, April 27. Henry Rundle, a seaman, came before the Magistrate to-day on a warrant issued five years ago changing him with deserting from the Ruapehu. "This is a case where the statutory limitation comes in," said Mr Cira'ckshanks. "Rundle will be discharged." JAPANESE DESERTERS. Tnvcreargill, April 27. Two Japanese who deserted from the Shinka Komaru at the Bluff wore charged with unlawfully landing, they being prohibited immigrants. They were convicted and ordered to rejoin their ship.
