I The Stratford Football Club lias lost one of its prominent players in the person of Mr F. G. McDavitt, who left for the Trentham camp yesterday. A party of friends of Mr and Mrs 13. Gallagher visited their residence on Victoria Road last evening and made a presentation of an afternoon tea set, on the occasion of their marriage. Friends of the Rev. A. Reader will sympathise in the death of his cousin, Sergeant Bernard Spencer, of the Prince of Wales' 3rd" Dragoon Guards. The Wellingborough News (Northants, England), says: The deceased was the third son of Mr and Mrs W. Spencer, lately of Church Street, Rushden, rho are now living in Pavenham, Bedfordshire. He was at home on leave for a few hours on his return from Egypt, where his regiment had been stationed prior to leaving for the front. The only intimation of their great loss was an official paper received on December 23rd by his parents, stating that Sergeant B. Spencer, of the 3rd Dragoon Guards, had been killed in action on November 17th. and a message expressing the sympathy of then* Majesties the King and Queen. Serg Spencer was only 27 years or age, and hi. 3 death will he keenly felt by a large circle o ffriends, and the sympathy of all goes forth to his parents and relatives in their great loss.
