A Russian authority declares that Austria desires instant peace, but is irrevocably bound to unwilling Germany, who now prefers Austria to be neutral and hampering the Russians, permitting Austrian volunteers and guns to be used on both the German front-;. Nearly £-1,000,000 worth of wool was held up owing to the congestion at the London docks. The wool sales were postponed and every effort made to discharge Australasian meat. Apparently, it was not thought urgent to discharge the wool, despite the clamor rtf f-.be khaki manufacturers.
