The death of Mr Eccleston Frederic Dnfaur, president of the Art Gallery, is reported from Sydney. Mr H. Dixon, postmaster at Manaia. is being transferred to Featherston. Mr E. K. Mulgan, senior inspector of the Auckland Education Board, will attend a meeting of the Imperial Union of Teachers in London as a representative both of the Education Department and the Auckland Board. Dr. Arthur Stanley Wohlmann, Government balneologist, at Rotorua, announces that he has formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the .surname of Wohlmann, and intends in future, to he known as “Arthur Stanley Herbert” exclusively. Sir Joseph Ward, who has been recuperating at Rotorua for the past week, returned to Wellington on Saturday night. On Thursday night ho was entertained at an informal gathering of Jus supporters and enthusiastically received.
