A communique sthtCSj: ,We advanced on Thursday evening from Steensstraate to the east of .Langemarch, and’ attacked the enemy north-east of Ypres. They advanced on the front nine kilometres to the heights south of Piekirn. Simultaneously the infantry and artillery forced a passage of the Ysev i\ear Steenstraate and Hetsa, and captured at least sixteen hundred French and English prisoners and thirty gnus, j including four English heavy guns.
