The exploding shell nearly made them turn turtle, the machine compass dropping out. The ! pilot refused the observer's assistance. He navigated for fifteen miles and landed safely in the French lines o.i one pair of wheels, and I ben crawled 'out through the shell hole. Later, he fainted. Moth men have been decorated.
