SHIPOWNERS CONFERENCE
Peb Press AssociATroN. Dunedin, April 22. There is a probability that a conference of shipowners' representatives will be held in Wellington immediately to consider the question of freightage in Australasia regarding oversea cargo, and to arrange a new scale of rates more in line with those obtained by deepsea traders at Australian ports. The new scale is likely to be determined this week. Inside men expect that a fixed tariff at slightly increased rates will be adopted until circumstances return to normal.
