The Mohmamls advanced to Shabkatlz on the ]Stli and engaged the patrols in the l*ass. hut a movable column dispersed the invaders. Ihe Khan of Peshawar is offering the Government assistance. The mullahs discountenance the movement. Peshawar is an ancient city of the Punjab on the River Bara,. British India, and capital of a division of the same name, twelve miles east of Khyber Pass, It is surrounded by a wall and commanded by a fort. The city is a great trading depot for Afghanistan and Central Asia. Population 90,440. West of the city is a military cantonment, accomodating a force of 20,000. A TRIBAL OUTBREAK. London, April 21. Official: Four thousand Mohmamls attempted a raid on Khyber Pass, hut were repulsed, losing 150. (The Mohmamls are a powtrful Pathan tribe in the north-west frontier province of India, to the north-west of Peshawur).
