CHASE LASTS NEARLY FOUR HOURS. United Press Association. (Received 8.55 a.in.) London, April 9. A German submarine chased the Holt liner Theseus oft the Scillys, and signalled her to stop, but instantly, the Theseus went full speed ahead. The submarine opened fire with a machine gun, and subsequently fired seven shells from a 3-incher. Live of these struck the liner, all above the waterline, but nobody was injured. The submarine vainly tried to get on the Jheseiis quarter, and finally, when 250 yards distant, a heavy sea prevented her using' the torpedo, and the submarine abandoned the chase, which had lasted three hours and forty minutes, during which the vessels had covered fifty-seven miles.
