In connection with the shortage of fodder, the State has already secured from San Francisco three cargoes of hay aggregating 12.51)0 tons, the earliest of which will arrive in June. Seven cargoes of oats from the Argentine and Chilian ports arc being imported by private linns. The shortage is due to military requirements.
