LABOR CONFERENCE. United Press Association. (Received 10.20 a.m.) Sydney, April 7. The Labor Conference discussed two censure motions referring to the Nor-ton-Grifiiths scheme, one proposing that no membof of. the Labor Party supporting the scheme be eligible at next election, and the other that the scheme of contravention as a plank of the Labour platfofm is unsound and should not be adopted. Various speakers passed strictures on the Government. Mr Holman, replying, explained that the Norton-Grifiitha scheme was the only alternative to a cessation of public works. The precedent was one the Commonwealth should not emulate. He was sure Mr Holman had striven to promote the best interests of the workers. Both motions were lost..
