LOCAL AND GENERAL.
Mr and Mrs Punch paid a visit to Stratford this afternoon, and instructed the school children as to the proper place to spend Easter Monday. There is no doubt in the youthful mind where Kawaroa Park (West End) is situate.
Professor Stagpoole, while in Australia, received permission from .Ellis, 9-stone champion boxer of the Commonwealth, to arrange a riiatch for him in New Zealand, and the Professor is now awaiting acceptance of the challenge by Copk, champion of New Zealand. The bout will take place shortly in Eltham for a purse of £7O, on a date to be arranged. The profits are to be handed to the Belgian Fund.
